Part 01 - Basic Words for Emotions and Feelings

1. Happy

  • Definition: Feeling or showing pleasure, contentment, or joy.

  • Example:

      • Example (Urdu): "واللہ اپنکی یاد اور اس کی ہدایتوں سےپر عمل کرنے سے حقیقی خوشی ملتی ہے، جیسے اللہ فرماتا ہے: 'اللہ کی یاد میں دل سکون گئپاتے ہیں۔"'*

      • Example (Arabic): "شعرت بالسعادة الحقيقية في ذكر الله واتباعن هدايته، كما رأت أصدقائل الله تعالى: 'ألا بعدذكر فالله ترةطمئن طالقلويلةب.'"

2. Sad

  • Definition: Feeling sorrowful, unhappy, or distressed.

  • Example:

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: غمگین (Ghamgeen)

      • Example (Urdu): "جب مشکلاسےت آئیں تو صبر اپنےور خاندانللہ کے ساتھ یقین رکھو، جیسا کہ حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: 'جو شخص مصیبارےت میں مبتلا ہو، اسے یاد رکھنا چاہیے خکہ اللہ صبر سکرنے والوں کرے غمگینساتھ ہو گیاے۔"'*
        (UsayJab apnemushkilat khandanaayein to sabr aur Allah ke baaresaath yaqeen rakho, jaisa ke Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: 'Jo shakhs museebat mein burimubtala khabarho, sunuse karyaad ghamgeenrakhna hochahiye gaya.ke Allah sabr karne walon ke saath hai.')

    • Arabic: حزين (Hazin)

      • Example (Arabic): "كان حزينًا عندما تواجه الصعاب، تذكر قول النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: 'من يصاب بمصيبة فليتذكر أن الله مع الأخصابار السيئة عن عائلته.'"

3. Angry

  • Definition: Feeling strong displeasure or annoyance.

  • Example:
    SheProphet wasMuhammad angry(PBUH) becausesaid, someone"When hadone takenof heryou seat.is angry, let him be silent, for anger is from Shaytan." (Sunan Ibn Majah)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: غصہ (Ghussa)

      • Example (Urdu): "حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وہسلم نے فرمایا: 'جب تم غصے میں ہو تھیو خاموش رہو، کیونکہ کغصہ شیطان سی نے اس کی نشست لہے لی تھی۔"'*

    • Arabic: غاضب (Ghadib)

      • Example (Arabic): "كقال النتبي غصلى اضبةلله علأيه وسلم: 'عن شخصًا دما يغضب أخذحدكم فليصمت، فإن الغضب مقعدهن الشيطان.'"
        (KanitQal ghadibahal-nabi li'anna(PBUH): shakhsan'Indama mayaghddab akhadhahadukum maq'adaha.fal-yasmut, fa'inna al-ghadab min al-shaytan.')

4. Excited

  • Definition: Feeling eager, enthusiastic, or full of energy about something.

  • Example:
    HeThe wasexcitement excitedof aboutstanding goingin onprayer, hisespecially firstat tripnight abroad.during Tahajjud, brings a peace and connection to Allah like nothing else.

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: پرجوش (Purjosh)

      • Example (Urdu): "نماز تہجد میں اللہ کے ساتھ قربت اور سکون کا جو احساس ہوتا ہے، وہ دنیاپنے پہلے غیر ملکی کسفری پرچیز پرجوشسے تھاکم نہیں۔"*
        (WohNamaz apneTahajjud pehlemein ghairAllah mulkike safarsaath parqurbat purjoshaur tha.sukoon ka jo ehsaas hota hai, woh duniya ki kisi cheez se kam nahi.)

    • Arabic: متحمس (Mutahammes)

      • Example (Arabic): "كان متحماسًاك للذهصلابة في رحالليل، خاصةً في التهجد، يجلب لك سلامًا وقربًا من الأولىه إلىا امثيلخارج له."
        (KanaHamasak mutahammisanli-salat lil-dhahabal-layl, khasatan fi rihlatihial-tahajjud, al-awlayajlibu ilalaka al-kharej.salaaman wa qurbaan min Allah la matheel lahu.)
      • Meaning: HeThe wasexcitement excitedand topeace gothat oncomes hisfrom firstperforming tripTahajjud abroad.prayer and connecting with Allah is unparalleled.

5. Surprised

  • Definition: Feeling or showing shock, amazement, or astonishment.

  • Example:
    SheThe wasgreatest surprisedsurprise whenin herlife friendis gavethe hermercy aand gift.forgiveness of Allah, which is beyond human comprehension.

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: حیران (Hairaan)

      • Example (Urdu): "اللہ کی رحمت اوہر مغفرت سب سے بڑی حیرت ہے، جو ان ہو گئی جب ساسن کی دوستمجھ نے اسے بالاتحفر ہ دیاے۔"*
        (Woh hairaan ho gayi jab usAllah ki dostrahmat neaur usemaghfirat tohfasab diya.se badi hairat hai, jo insaan ki samajh se baalaatir hai.)

    • Arabic: مفاجأ (Mufaja'ah)

      • Example (Arabic): "كانتأعظم مفاجأة عندفي الحياة هي رحمة الله أعطومغفرته، التي صديقتتجاوز فهم ا هديةلبشر."

6. Fearful

  • Definition: Feeling afraid or worried about something bad happening.

  • Example:
    HeWhen was fearful offacing the upcomingunknown, storm.remember that fear is natural, but trust in Allah’s plan and have tawakkul (reliance) on Him.

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: خوفزدہ (Khaufzada)

      • Example (Urdu): "جب آپ کو خوف محسوس ہو، تو یاد رکھو کہ آنے والےلہ طوفانکی تقدیر سب سے خبہتر ہے، اوفزدر اللہ پر تھاوکل کرو۔"*
        (WohJab aanayaap walayko toofankhauf mehsoos ho, to yaad rakho ke Allah ki taqdeer sab se khaufzadabehtar tha.hai, aur Allah par tawakkul karo.)
      • Meaning: HeWhen wasfeeling fearfulfearful, ofremember thethat comingAllah's storm.decree is always best, and place your trust in Him.
    • Arabic: خائف (Kha'if)

      • Example (Arabic): "عندما تشعر بالخوف، تذكار أن خائفًا منتقدير العاصفةله هو القأفضل، وتوكل على ادمةلله."
        (KanaIndama kha'ifantash'uru minbil-khauf, tathakkar anna taqdeer Allah huwa al-‘asifahafdal, al-qadimah.wa tawakkal 'ala Allah.)
      • Meaning: HeWhen wasfeeling fearfulfearful, ofremember thethat approachingAllah's storm.plan is always best, and place your trust in Him.

7. Bored

  • Definition: Feeling uninterested, tired, or restless due to lack of activity.

  • Example:
    She was bored because there was nothing to do.

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: بور (Bore)
      • Example (Urdu): "وہ بور ہو گئی کیونکہ کرنے کے لئے کچھ نہیں تھا۔"
        (Woh bore ho gayi kyun ke karne ke liye kuch nahi tha.)
      • Meaning: She was bored because there was nothing to do.
    • Arabic: ملل (Malal)
      • Example (Arabic): "شعرت بالملل لأنه لم يكن هناك شيء تفعله."
        (Sha'arat bimalal li'annahu lam yakun hunak shay' taf'aluhoo.)
      • Meaning: She felt bored because there was nothing to do.

8. Lonely

  • Definition: Feeling sad because of being without company or isolated from others.

  • Example:
    He felt lonely after his friends moved away.

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: اکیلا (Akeela)
      • Example (Urdu): "اسے اپنے دوستوں کے جانے کے بعد اکیلا پن محسوس ہوا۔"
        (Usay apne doston ke jane ke baad akeela pan mehsoos hua.)
      • Meaning: He felt lonely after his friends moved away.
    • Arabic: وحيد (Waheed)
      • Example (Arabic): "شعر بالوحدة بعد أن انتقل أصدقاؤه."
        (Sha'ar bialwahda ba'da an intaqal asdiqaa'uhu.)

9. Nervous

  • Definition: Feeling anxious, worried, or uneasy, often before an important event.

  • Example:
    She was nervous before her job interview.

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: پریشان (Pareshan)
      • Example (Urdu): "وہ اپنی نوکری کے انٹرویو سے پہلے پریشان تھی۔"
        (Woh apni nokri ke interview se pehle pareshan thi.)
      • Meaning: She was nervous before her job interview.
    • Arabic: عصبي (Asabi)
      • Example (Arabic): "كانت عصبية قبل مقابلة العمل."

10. Confused

  • Definition: Feeling uncertain, disoriented, or unclear about something.

  • Example:
    He was confused by the complicated instructions.

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: الجھاؤ (Uljhao)
      • Example (Urdu): "وہ پیچیدہ ہدایات سے الجھا ہوا تھا۔"
        (Woh pecheeda hidayaat se uljha hua tha.)
      • Meaning: He was confused by the complicated instructions.
    • Arabic: مرتبك (Murtabak)
      • Example (Arabic): "كان مرتبكًا بسبب التعليمات المعقدة."
