Part 02 - Intermediate words for Assistance and Support

1. Assist

  • Definition: To help or give support to someone in performing a task or achieving something.

  • Example:
    SheA assistedMuslim himshould assist others in completingtheir time of need, as the projectProphet onMuhammad time.(PBUH) said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is oppressed." (Sahih Bukhari)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: مدد کرنا (Madad Karna)

      • Example (Urdu): "حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمنصوبہایا: وقت پر مکمل کرنے مبھائیں اس کی مدد کرو، چاہے وہ ظالم ہو یا مظلوم۔'"
        (UsHazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne mansobafarmaya: waqt"Apne parbhai mukammal karne mein uskiki madad ki.karo, chahe woh zalim ho ya mazloom.")
      • Meaning: SheA assistedMuslim himshould assist others, as the Prophet (PBUH) taught that we should help each other in completingall the project on time.circumstances.
    • Arabic: مساعدة (Musa'ada)

      • Example (Arabic): "قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: 'ساعدته أخاك، فيسواء إتمكامن ظالمشراً أوع في امظلوقت مالمحددً.'"
        (Sa'adatuha fi itmamQala al-mashru'anabi fi(PBUH): al-waqt'Sa'id al-muhaddad.akhak, sawaya kana zaliman aw mazluman.')

2. Facilitate

  • Definition: To make a process or task easier by providing assistance or removing obstacles.

  • Example:
    TheAllah newcommands softwarein the Quran, "Indeed, Allah will facilitatemake ourease workfor efficiency.those who help others." (Quran 94:6)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: آسان بنانا (Aasaan Banana)

      • Example (Urdu): "اللہ تعالیٰ قرآن میں فرما سافٹ ویئرتے ہمیں: 'ارللہ ان لوگوں کے کام کلی کارکردگی کوے آسانی بنپیدائ کرتا ہے گاجو دوسروں کی مدد کرتے ہیں۔'"
        (NayaAllah softwareTa'ala humareQuran kaammein farmate hain: "Allah un logon ke liye aasani paida karta hai jo doosron ki kaarkardagimadad kokarte aasaan banayega.hain.")
      • Meaning: TheAllah newmakes softwaretasks willeasier facilitatefor ourthose workwho efficiency.help others.
    • Arabic: تسهيل (Tashil)

      • Example (Arabic): "قالبرنامج الجديدله ستعالى: 'إن الله يسهل كفاءتلأمور للذين يسا فيعدون العملآخرين.'"
        (Al-barnamajQala Allah Ta'ala: "Inna Allah yusahhil al-jadeedumur sayusahhillil-ladhina kafaatina fiyusa'idun al-'amal.akhareen.")
      • Meaning: The new softwareAllah will ease the way for those who facilitate ourthe worktasks efficiency.of others.

3. Encourage

  • Definition: To give support, confidence, or hope to someone to help them pursue or continue an activity.

  • Example:
    HerThe teacherProphet encouragedMuhammad her(PBUH) said, "Whoever encourages someone to applydo forgood, theit scholarship.is as if they have done it themselves." (Sahih Muslim)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: حوصلہ افزائی کرنا (Hosla Afzai Karna)

      • Example (Urdu): "اسحضرت کےمحمد صلی اللہ علیہ وستادلم نے فرمایا: 'جو کسےی کو اسکچھالرشپ کے لیے درخواست دینے کی حوصلہ افزائی کرتا ہے، گویا اس نے خود وہ کام کیا۔'"
        (UsHazrat keMuhammad ustaad(PBUH) ne usayfarmaya: scholarship"Jo kekisi liyeko darkhwastachha denekarne ki hosla afzai ki.karta hai, goya us ne khud woh kaam kiya.")
      • Meaning: HerEncouraging teacher encouraged herothers to applydo forgood deeds brings reward, as if you did the scholarship.good yourself.
    • Arabic: تشجيع (Tashji')

      • Example (Arabic): "قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: 'من شجعه أحدًا معلمها للتقدم بطلب للحصول على الخير، فكأنمنحةا فعله.'"
        (Shajji'ahaQala mu'allimuhaal-nabi li-taqaddum(PBUH): bi-talab'Man lil-husulshajja'a ahadan 'ala al-minha.khayr, faka'annah fa'alah.')
      • Meaning: HerEncouraging teacher encouraged herothers to applydo forgood is like doing it yourself, according to the scholarship.Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

4. Champion

  • Definition: To support or defend someone or something, often in a public or strong manner.

  • Example:
    SheThe championedProphet Muhammad (PBUH) was a champion for the causerights of equalthe rightsoppressed, foras women.he said, "Whoever helps the oppressed, Allah will help him." (Sunan Abu Dawood)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: حامی بننا (Hami Banna)

      • Example (Urdu): "حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خفرمایا: 'جواتین مظلوم کےی مدد کرتا ہے، اللہ اساو کی حقوقمدد کرتا ہے لیے مہم چلائی۔'"
        (UsHazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne khawateenfarmaya: ke"Jo musawimazloom huqooqki kemadad liyekarta muhimhai, chalai.Allah uski madad karta hai.")
      • Meaning: SheA championedMuslim should champion the causerights of equalthe rightsoppressed, as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advocated for women.them.
    • Arabic: الدفاع (Al-Difa')

      • Example (Arabic): "دقافعتل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: 'من قضية حقوقناصر المظلوم، ناصرأةه المتساويةله.'"
        (Dafa'atQala al-nabi (PBUH): 'anMan qadiyat huquqyunassir al-mar'amazloom, al-mutasawiya.nasaraahu Allah.')

5. Promote

  • Definition: To support or actively encourage the growth or development of something.

  • Example:
    The organizationProphet worksMuhammad (PBUH) said, "Whoever calls others to promotegood, awarenessthey aboutwill environmentalreceive issues.the reward of those who follow them." (Sahih Muslim)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: فروغ دینا (Farog Dena)

      • Example (Urdu): "حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ تنظیوسلم نے فرماحولیات: 'جو دوسروں کو اچھائی مسکی طرف بلائلتا ہے، وہ ان کے بارے عمیلوں آگاہی بڑھانے کے لیے کام کرتیثواب ہپائے گا۔'"
        (YehHazrat tanzimMuhammad maholiyati(PBUH) masailne kefarmaya: bare"Jo meindoosron aagahiko barhaneachai keki liyetaraf kaambulata kartihai, hai.woh unke a'malon ka sawab paayega.")
      • Meaning: ThePromoting organizationgoodness worksand encouraging others to promotefollow awarenessthe aboutright environmentalpath issues.brings rewards.
    • Arabic: الترويج (Al-Tarwij)

      • Example (Arabic): "قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: 'منظ دعا إلى الخير، فله مةثل تأجر من عمل على تعزيز الوعي بقضايا البيئةه.'"
        (Al-munazzamaQala ta'amalual-nabi (PBUH): 'alaMan ta'zeezda'a ila al-wa'ikhayr, bi-qadhayafalahu al-bi'a.mithl ajr man 'amila bihi.')

6. Uplift

  • Definition: To raise someone’s mood or status, offering encouragement or support.

  • Example:
    HerThe wordsProphet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Smiling in the face of kindnessyour upliftedbrother myis spirits.charity." (Sahih Bukhari)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: حوصلہ افزائی کرنا (Hosla Afzai Karna)

      • Example (Urdu): "اس کےحضرت مہربانحمد صلی الفاظلہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایریا: حوصلہ'اپنے افزبھائی کیے سامنے مسکرانا صدقہ ہے۔'"
        (UsHazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Apne bhai ke mehrbansamne alfaazmuskurana nesadaqa meri hosla afzai ki.hai.")
      • Meaning: HerUplifting wordsothers through kindness, such as smiling, is a form of kindnesscharity upliftedand my spirits.encouragement.
    • Arabic: رفع (Rafa')

      • Example (Arabic): "كقالماتها الطنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: 'ابتسامتك في وجه أخيك صدقة رفعت معنوياتي.'"

7. Bolster

  • Definition: To strengthen or support something, often improving its effectiveness.

  • Example:
    The coach’sProphet feedbackMuhammad bolstered(PBUH) said, "The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the team’sweak confidence.believer, while there is good in both." (Sahih Muslim)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: مضبوط کرنا (Mazboot Karna)

      • Example (Urdu): "کوچحضرت کمحمد صلی رائےللہ علیہ وسلم نے ٹیم کے اعتفرمادیا: کو 'مضبوط مومن کیامزور مومن سے بہتر ہے۔'"
        (CoachHazrat kiMuhammad raye(PBUH) ne teamfarmaya: ke"Mazboot aitmaadmo'min kokamzor mazbootmo'min kiya.se behtar hai.")

8. Strengthen

  • Definition: To make something or someone stronger or more resilient.

  • Example:
    The exercisesProphet willMuhammad strengthen(PBUH) yoursaid, muscles."Verily, with hardship comes ease." (Quran 94:6)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: مضبوط کرنا (Mazboot Karna)

      • Example (Urdu): "حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرزمایا: 'یقیناً ہر مشیں آپکل کے پٹھوںبعد کوآسانی مضبوط کریں گیہے۔'"
        (YehHazrat warzishenMuhammad aap(PBUH) ne farmaya: "Yaqeeman har mushkil ke pathonbaad koasani mazboot karengi.hai.")

9. Subsidize

  • Definition: To support financially, usually by a government or organization.

  • Example:

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: سبسڈی دینا (Subsidy Dena)

      • Example (Urdu): "حکومت نے کم آمدنی والےلہ ختعاندانوں کے لیے صحت کی دیکھ بھال کیٰ قیمترآن میں سبسڈفرماتے ہیں: 'یقیناً اللہ رزق دینے والا ہے۔'"
        (HukoomatAllah neTa'ala kam aamdani walay khandanon ke liye sehat ki dekhbhal ki qeematQuran mein subsidyfarmate di.hain: "Yaqeeman Allah rizq dene wala hai.")

    • Arabic: دعم (Da'am)

10. Reinforce

  • Definition: To strengthen or support something further, often by adding more resources or effort.

  • Example:

    • Urdu: مستحکم کرنا (Mustahkam Karna)

      • Example (Urdu): "حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ثبوتمن ادوستغاثہرے مومن کے لیے ایک مضبوط عمارت کیس کو مستطرحکم کرنے میں مددگار ثابت ہواے۔'"
