Part 02 - Intermediate words for Assistance and Support

1. Assist

  • Definition: To help or give support to someone in performing a task or achieving something.

  • Example:
    A Muslim should assist others in their time of need, as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is oppressed." (Sahih Bukhari)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: مدد کرنا (Madad Karna)

      • (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Apne bhai ki madad karo, chahe woh zalim ho ya mazloom.")

2. Facilitate

  • Definition: To make a process or task easier by providing assistance or removing obstacles.

  • Example:
    Allah commands in the Quran, "Indeed, Allah will make ease for those who help others." (Quran 94:6)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: آسان بنانا (Aasaan Banana)

      • (Allah Ta'ala Quran mein farmate hain: "Allah un logon ke liye aasani paida karta hai jo doosron ki madad karte hain.")

3. Encourage

  • Definition: To give support, confidence, or hope to someone to help them pursue or continue an activity.

  • Example:
    The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Whoever encourages someone to do good, it is as if they have done it themselves." (Sahih Muslim)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: حوصلہ افزائی کرنا (Hosla Afzai Karna)

      • (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Jo kisi ko achha karne ki hosla afzai karta hai, goya us ne khud woh kaam kiya.")

4. Champion

  • Definition: To support or defend someone or something, often in a public or strong manner.

  • Example:
    The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a champion for the rights of the oppressed, as he said, "Whoever helps the oppressed, Allah will help him." (Sunan Abu Dawood)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: حامی بننا (Hami Banna)

      • (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Jo mazloom ki madad karta hai, Allah uski madad karta hai.")

5. Promote

  • Definition: To support or actively encourage the growth or development of something.

  • Example:
    The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Whoever calls others to good, they will receive the reward of those who follow them." (Sahih Muslim)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: فروغ دینا (Farog Dena)

      • (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Jo doosron ko achai ki taraf bulata hai, woh unke a'malon ka sawab paayega.")

6. Uplift

  • Definition: To raise someone’s mood or status, offering encouragement or support.

  • Example:
    The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Smiling in the face of your brother is charity." (Sahih Bukhari)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: حوصلہ افزائی کرنا (Hosla Afzai Karna)

      • (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Apne bhai ke samne muskurana sadaqa hai.")

7. Bolster

  • Definition: To strengthen or support something, often improving its effectiveness.

  • Example:
    The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, while there is good in both." (Sahih Muslim)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: مضبوط کرنا (Mazboot Karna)

      • (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Mazboot mo'min kamzor mo'min se behtar hai.")

8. Strengthen

  • Definition: To make something or someone stronger or more resilient.

  • Example:
    The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Verily, with hardship comes ease." (Quran 94:6)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: مضبوط کرنا (Mazboot Karna)

      • (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Yaqeeman har mushkil ke baad asani hai.")

9. Subsidize

  • Definition: To support financially, usually by a government or organization.

  • Example:
    Allah promises to support the needy, as stated in the Quran, "Indeed, Allah is the Provider." (Quran 51:58)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: سبسڈی دینا (Subsidy Dena)

      • (Allah Ta'ala Quran mein farmate hain: "Yaqeeman Allah rizq dene wala hai.")

10. Reinforce

  • Definition: To strengthen or support something further, often by adding more resources or effort.

  • Example:
    The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "The believer to another believer is like a strong building, each part supporting the other." (Sahih Bukhari)

    Synonyms:

    • Urdu: مستحکم کرنا (Mustahkam Karna)

      • (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Mo'min doosray mo'min ke liye aik mazboot imarat ki tarah hai.")
