Definition: To make a situation or pain less severe or more bearable.
Example:
A Muslim should strive to alleviate the suffering of others, as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Whoever relieves a believer’s distress, Allah will relieve him of one of his distresses on the Day of Judgment." (Sahih Muslim)

Synonyms:
- Urdu: کم کرنا (Kam Karna)
  - (Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) ne farmaya: "Jo kisi musalman ka gham kam karta hai, Allah Qiyamat ke din uska gham kam karega.")
